Dear Edwards Rotarians,
Our club Board has decided to implement a new idea. Once a quarter, we will pick a Thursday to skip our regular meeting. Rather than getting together as a group, we encourage each Rotarian to meet one on one with another member of the club, get together in a small group, or meet with a prospective member to recruit and promote our club.
We are trying out this new concept for a few reasons: First, I thought it would be a nice way for members of our club to get to know each other better on a personal level. Second, we can carve out some time to recruit new members and talk about Rotary. And lastly, the club will take the funds we normally spend on breakfast (call it $500) and transfer the funds to a new Foundation Reserve account. It is my goal to build up a reserve account so that we don't have to live year to year with our donation budget. It would be beneficial to have an account that we could use in the event that we had an unexpectedly poor fundraiser, or if we had an unbudgeted item we wanted to contribute to, such as a natural disaster relief. Ideally it would be nice to build this account up over several years to really put the club on firm financial ground.
Our first Rotary Fellowship and Outreach Day will be Thursday May 31st. I hope you will all take advantage of the time and use the day to do all things Rotary!
Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.
Yours in Rotary Service, Chris Rowberry

Apr. 27, 2019 8:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
On Saturday, April 27th, we're all set for this year's Eagle County Community Pride Highway Cleanup day. This is a great event, and a really nice way to help the community!
The Edwards Rotary Club will be picking up trash at the Edwards Rest Area. We'll start cleaning at 9:00am, so please arrive around 8:45 so we can get the team together and start on time. We'll pick up trash until about noon.
Following the morning of work, volunteers and their families are invited to unwind and celebrate at a Thank You BBQ at the Broken Arrow in Arrowhead from noon to 2:00 pm. (There will be prizes and food!)
Each participant is required to fill out a waiver, and I'll have them before we start.
Feel free to bring family and friends - all are welcome! Please email me at mayvillea@gmail.com, or send me a text at (970) 309-2759 to let me know if you're interested - I hope to see you there! |
